This campaign is the successor to the 2008 Promax Gold Winning “True Dads Take Action” campaign initiative and perhaps the best work of my career to date. But, it is more than an example of my directing work. This campaign began as a pitch that I made to Spike to shift the focus of the network’s pro-social efforts from the “active dads” position that I launched a year ago (which has been nominated for a pro-social award this year) to something bigger and more relevant to the issues we face as a nation.

Working with Spike’s pro-social group, who brought the USO and United Through Reading on board, I crafted the on-air and online campaign from concept and scripts to production, post and final delivery. The spot was shot on the RED Digital Cinema camera, my camera of choice, by the epic Pete Konzcal and the amazing production design was the work of the talented Henriette Lopez.

Doing exceptional work is what my team strives for on every project. But when that work really matters, and the message rings true, it changes the equation and brings out the best in everyone on the team. This spot is a shining example of that and I’m proud of the work everyone in my production team put in to it. I congratulate everyone and look forward to more work on this noble cause.

Find out more about the program at spiketruedads.com.
